    The programme is an 18-month contract, commencing on 1 May 2025 and ending on 31 October 2026. Participants will receive a monthly learner allowance of R6 800 and medical aid benefits.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    As a Universal Banker Learner, participants will be trained to:

    • Understand the full value chain of a Universal Banker.
    • Develop strong sales and customer service skills.
    • Analyse and process financial information efficiently.
    • Gain knowledge of financial and regulatory frameworks.
    • Understand customer demands and provide appropriate financial solutions.
    • Resolve client inquiries professionally and promptly.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
    • Handle professional correspondence, ensuring high service standards.
    • Demonstrate effective telephone and email etiquette.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be eligible for this learnership, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Be a South African citizen.
    • Be between the ages of 18 and 30.
    • Have successfully completed a post-matric three-year commerce-related qualification.
    • Be computer literate.
    • Have strong communication skills (able to read, write, and speak English fluently).
    • Not be permanently employed.
    • Not be currently studying at any institution.
    • Not be enrolled in any other learnership or internship programme.

    The Universal Banker Learnership is available in the following provinces and regions:

    1. Kwa-Zulu Natal – Durban, Howick, Pietermaritzburg, Dundee, Newcastle, Umlazi, Richards Bay, Empangeni.
    2. Northern Cape & Free State – Clocolan, Vrede, Brandwag, Bloemfontein, Kuruman, Springbok.
    3. North West – Marikana, Tower Mall (Klerksdorp), Vryburg.
    4. Gauteng – South (Boksburg, Brakpan) and North.
