Key Performance Areas:
- Assist the Sound Technician and Sound Engineer in setting up and dismantling sound and backline equipment, conducting sound and line checks to ensure optimal sound quality.
- Aid in the setup and verification of all communication sets and radio systems within the venue.
- Maintain clean and safe setups for performers, adhering strictly to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Safely store equipment to prevent theft, damage, or unauthorized use.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all available equipment.
- Construct cables necessary for sound equipment operations.
- Perform thorough sound and line checks to guarantee high-quality sound before each performance.
- Manage audio volume and sound quality during productions and events to maintain excellent sound standards.
- Ensure that performance setups are consistently clean and safe for performers.
Requirements:
Preferred Minimum Education:
- Completion of Grade 12 with a strong interest in sound and a grasp of its physical principles.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, such as in the music industry or community radio.
Knowledge, Skills, and Critical Competencies:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus.
- Technical proficiency in operating and maintaining sound equipment.
