Student Wellness Co-ordinator Job Purpose
The Student Wellness Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in managing student affairs, focusing on the Student Representative Council (SRC), social and educational programs, and the overall development of life skills among students. This role is essential in fostering a supportive and engaging campus environment that enhances the student experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of the Student Representative Council (SRC)
- Election Process: Plan and implement the SRC election process to ensure transparency and student engagement.
- Training & Development: Provide comprehensive training, team-building exercises, and development opportunities for SRC members.
- Active Participation: Encourage and ensure active participation of SRC members in campus life, involving them in various committees, portfolios, and meetings as outlined in the SRC process.
2. Social Awareness & Education
- Campaign Design: Develop and plan effective social awareness and education campaigns tailored to address the specific needs of the Durban campus.
- Program Implementation: Manage the implementation of these programs, ensuring they are effectively executed.
- Program Evaluation: Regularly evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of the programs to guide future planning and improvements.
3. Reporting
- Fortnightly Reports: Prepare and submit fortnightly reports on all key performance areas (KPAs).
- Semester Reports: Compile consolidated reports at the end of each semester, summarizing activities and outcomes.
- Online Tracking: Ensure the completion of all online tracking systems related to student activities and wellness programs.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Communications, Events Management, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferable.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in coordinating events and activities, ideally within an educational environment.

- Student Support: Ability to provide comprehensive support to students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
