This full-time, permanent role in Cape Town, Western Cape, provides a platform to work with a diverse range of local and international visitors, stakeholders, and industry leaders.

    Visitor Experience Consultant Job Description

    As a Visitor Experience Consultant, you’ll be a frontline ambassador for Cape Town Tourism. Your passion for people and tourism will drive you to create unforgettable experiences for visitors. Key responsibilities include:

    1. Booking Services: Facilitate travel, accommodation, and entertainment bookings.
    2. Sales Excellence: Respond to customer queries in person, via phone, and digital platforms, converting them into reservations and exceeding sales targets.
    3. Merchandising: Set up displays, sell products, and restock merchandise to promote Cape Town’s attractions.
    4. Product Knowledge: Stay updated on accommodation options, attractions, activities, and events to provide accurate information.
    5. Membership Support: Assist the Membership and Industry Services team with various initiatives.

    Your ability to innovate, connect with people, and handle a dynamic work environment will be key to your success.

    Qualifications and Skills Needed

    To be eligible for this role, you’ll need:

    • A Higher Certificate (NQF5) in a related field.
    • Two years of experience in the travel or hotel industry, focusing on promoting or selling tourism products, attractions, or experiences.
    • Key Competencies:
      • Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
      • Teamwork and collaboration.
      • Tech-savviness, including the ability to use social media and booking systems.
      • Flexibility to work in different locations and during long hours, including weekends.
      • The ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining excellent service quality.
