    Requirements

    At BKB, we understand that the success of our warehouse operations relies on skilled individuals working efficiently and collaboratively. As a Workshop Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the warehouse, ensuring the smooth operation of various machinery, and performing maintenance duties. We are looking for someone with:

    • Educational Requirements: Matric (Grade 12)
    • Experience: Basic knowledge of warehouse functions
    • References: Traceable references from previous maintenance work
    • Skills: Ability to work in a team and under pressure
    • Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and in good health
    • Licenses: A valid forklift license and a valid driver’s license
    • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and long hours when required

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintenance

    • Machinery Maintenance: Ensure the hydraulic presses and high-density presses are kept in optimal working condition to maintain productivity.
    • Forklift Maintenance: Regularly inspect and ensure forklifts are in 100% working condition to support productivity.
    • Conveyor Belts: Keep the conveyor belts operational, minimizing any potential downtime.
    • Vehicle Checks: Responsible for checking company vehicles before they exit and when they return to the premises, ensuring they are in good working condition.
    • Repairs: Handle general maintenance and repairs as needed, including plumbing, carpentry, and other tasks as required by the supervisor.

    Forklift Operations

    • Assist as Required: Provide forklift assistance for moving wool, machinery, or other items as instructed by the supervisor.
    • Loading and Unloading: Safely remove materials from trucks and transfer them to the designated storage area.

    Quality Control

    • ISO Compliance: Ensure that all machinery adheres to ISO standards and remains in a working condition.
    • Wool Store Maintenance: Regularly check that the machinery in the wool store is functioning properly to maintain operational efficiency.

    Ad Hoc Duties

    • Miscellaneous Tasks: Assist with any additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Follow Instructions: Adhere to verbal and written instructions provided by management or supervisors.

    Health and Safety

    • Maintain a Safe Environment: Always keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
