Key Responsibilities:
1. Food & Beverage Service:
- Service Standards: Ensure consistent and high-quality service based on established procedures and standards for food and beverage delivery.
- Mise-en-place: Prepare service venues and make sure everything is set for guest service.
- Menu & Beverage Knowledge: Stay updated on menu changes and dietary needs of guests. Be confident in explaining food and beverages, including wine pairing recommendations.
- Upselling: Suggest and recommend beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Beverage Preparation: Assist in beverage preparation, service, and presentation.
- Stock Control: Maintain accurate records for every beverage consumed, following the property’s stock control procedures.
- Team Communication: Attend daily meetings and facilitate optimal communication between the kitchen and service team.
2. General Guest Service & Care:
- Guest Information: Gather important guest details before arrival and continue to collect information during their stay.
- Personalized Service: Relay guest preferences to the Supervisor or Management for personalized service.
- Handling Complaints: Report guest concerns immediately to the Supervisor or Management for resolution.
- Assisting with Other Duties: When necessary, help with additional tasks like managing the minibar, handling luggage, or organizing kids’ entertainment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Grade 12 (advantageous but not required).
- F&B Knowledge: Familiarity with luxury-level food and beverage service.
- Beverage Expertise: Knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beverages is essential.
- Food Preparation Knowledge: Understanding of food preparation methods and menu items.
- Stock Management: Basic knowledge of stock rotation and inventory control.
- Hygiene Standards: Knowledge of hygiene and cleanliness standards, including proper use of cleaning products.
- Equipment Operation: Familiarity with the operation of various service equipment and appliances.
