Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
Interns will be expected to provide crucial administrative support to the CRUM department, focusing on improving service delivery and stakeholder engagement. The core tasks include:
- Coordinating administrative functions within the Integrated Service Delivery and Stakeholder Interface Unit.
- Promoting efficient service delivery operations across various regions within Johannesburg.
- Assisting in the management of stakeholder relationships and internal communications.
- Preparing both qualitative and quantitative reports for statutory purposes.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in key aspects of public administration and urban management, and will be tasked with ensuring that the department’s work processes are efficient and effective.
Remuneration
This internship is a paid opportunity, with a basic monthly salary of R10,109.86 (excluding benefits).
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the internship:
- A Grade 12/Matric certificate along with a National Diploma or Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, Marketing and Communications, or a related field (minimum 360 credits).
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- The internship is open only to residents of the City of Johannesburg.
Additionally, the City of Johannesburg encourages applicants from previously disadvantaged communities and those with disabilities to apply. Preference will be given to past interns, EPWP participants, bursars, and learner participants who meet the job requirements.
