    Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a subsidiary of Assore Limited, operates in Limpopo Province, approximately 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort.     Key Responsibilities

    As a Civil Foreman, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing and ensuring the efficiency and quality of civil infrastructure maintenance and development. Below is an overview of the responsibilities expected for this position:

    1. Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:
      Ensure infrastructure machines, systems, and equipment are well-maintained to optimize operational output. Preventative maintenance is essential, and the successful candidate will be responsible for minimizing downtime through effective management systems.
    2. Operational Efficiency:
      Oversee operations of facilities and ensure they function optimally, including amenities like change houses and maintenance of infrastructure-related machinery (e.g., washing machines, tumble dryers, boilers).
    3. Infrastructure Oversight:
      Regularly inspect and maintain equipment such as mobile cranes and fleet vehicles (e.g., LDVs, trucks), adhering to established standards and guidelines.
    4. Project Management:
      Drive improvement projects to enhance operations and ensure equipment optimization. Investigate issues proactively, implement effective strategies, and make recommendations to improve infrastructure and processes.
    5. Contractor and Service Management:
      Develop and oversee contractor scope, performance, and adherence to service-level agreements (SLA). Monitor contractor compliance with company rules and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
    6. Reporting and Documentation:
      Compile comprehensive reports daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Track and record project and maintenance activities for transparency and operational tracking.
    7. Team Supervision and Task Delegation:
      Delegate tasks to team members, ensuring that deadlines are met and departmental objectives achieved. Maintain communication and coordination with contractors and subordinates.

    Additional Duties:

    • Collaborate in site meetings for effective infrastructural management.
    • Ensure safety, health, and quality management systems align with legal requirements.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following educational and experience-based requirements:

    Educational Qualifications:

    • Mechanical Trade Certificate: Minimum N4 Engineering Studies.
    • Driver’s License: Code 08 (B).
    • TMM Licences: ‘A’ Dover.
    • Advantageous Qualifications: Grade 12 (Standard 10) and a Supervisory Certificate.

    Experience:

    • Practical Experience: 3-5 years in a heavy industry, mining, or production environment.
    • Supervisory Experience: 1-3 years of supervisory experience is advantageous.
