The Role of a Data Capturer at Anova
The Data Capturer will play a crucial role in supporting Anova’s projects at the facility level. This role goes beyond administrative duties; it involves actively contributing to the organization’s goals by ensuring the accuracy, organization, and quality of healthcare data.
The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing patient files, generating defaulter reports, compiling monthly statistics, and supporting the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officers with various data-related tasks. Key Responsibilities
The Data Capturer’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Data Collection and Organization: The role involves organizing data into relevant tools and systems, such as RedCap, TIER.Net, and other facility systems.
- ART Folder Management: Ensuring that all antiretroviral therapy (ART) folders are updated and captured accurately within the Health Information System.
- Collaboration with M&E Officers: Supporting monthly data reporting from project staff, including Community Liaison Officers (CLOs), and aiding in data audits and improvement activities.
- Quality Improvement Projects: Actively participating in projects aimed at enhancing the quality of collected data.
- Data Cleaning and Safe Storage: The Data Capturer will be responsible for cleaning, interrogating, and securely storing monthly backups and reports.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet specific qualifications and possess certain skills:
- Educational Background:
- A Grade 12 certificate is mandatory, while tertiary qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Technical Competency:
- Experience in data capturing or relevant training is essential.
- Proficiency in using systems such as TIER.Net, Prehmis, PHCIS, and RedCap is preferred.
- Key Skills:
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Fast and accurate data capturing skills.
- An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English is required, and the ability to speak or write in a local language is advantageous.
