    Key Responsibilities

    As a Data Clerk at THINK, you will play a crucial role in ensuring data quality and supporting our healthcare projects. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Data Verification and Validation: Conduct routine checks to ensure data completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
    • Discrepancy Management: Review data reports for discrepancies and anomalies and address them promptly.
    • Health Information Systems Maintenance: Ensure the quality of data within health information systems like DHIS, TIER.Net, and EDR Web.
    • Standard Operating Procedures: Implement and promote SOPs for data collection, input, and management.
    • Data Support: Provide support for data mop-up, back-capturing, and filing across facilities in collaboration with the Department of Health (DoH).
    • System Enhancement: Collaborate with the IT department to enhance system features and optimize data collection methods.
    • Training and Mentorship: Assist in training and mentoring at the facility level to improve data input quality and understanding.
    • Guide Development: Develop and distribute user-friendly guides and manuals for the data input process.
    • Data Reporting: Work with clinical teams to ensure quality TB data reporting and coordinate with medical staff to streamline the data collection process.
    • Portfolio Management: Maintain a weekly portfolio of evidence of all HIS-generated reports.
    • Report Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual data summary reports for management and stakeholders.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with healthcare facility staff and DoH data capturers to resolve data queries.
    • Workshops and Meetings: Facilitate workshops and meetings to discuss improvements, challenges, and updates in data management.
    • Data Confidentiality: Ensure data confidentiality and comply with organisational and legal data protection regulations.
    • Data Backup and Security: Regularly back up data and coordinate with IT for data security measures.
    • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in data management and evaluation.
    • Improvement Recommendations: Recommend and implement tools and strategies to improve data collection and monitoring processes.
    • Cross-Departmental Support: Work closely with finance, clinical, and management teams to ensure data requirements are met and integrated into daily operations.
    • Data Insights and Analytics: Provide data insights and analytics support to other departments for various projects and initiatives.

    Requirements

    To be considered for the Data Clerk position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • A Grade 12 education certificate or equivalent.
    • Certification or formal training in monitoring and evaluation is desirable, offering a blend of theoretical and practical expertise.
    • A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience as an M&E Data Clerk or Data Capturer.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle, organise, and analyse data.
    • Familiarity with standard data collection tools and software.
    • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, clinical environment, or with health program data is highly desirable.
    • Experience with health information systems (e.g., DHIS, TIER.Net, EDR Web) is a plus.
