    Junior HR Officer Job Purpose

    The Junior HR Officer will work closely with the HR Manager, providing support in Human Resources and Payroll administration. This role will primarily be responsible for HR documentation, independent contractor management, and casual worker payroll administration. The successful candidate will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and audit standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. HR Documentation and Administration for Independent Contractors and Casual Workers

    As the Junior HR Officer, you will handle all necessary HR documentation for independent contractors (ICs) and casual workers. This involves managing the paperwork associated with new hires, including contracts, payroll documentation, and screening processes like reference and background checks.

    Key tasks include:

    • Administering HR documentation for ICs and casual workers.
    • Conducting Managed Integrity Evaluation (MIE) checks.
    • Verifying references and ensuring compliance before making offers.
    • Preparing contracts and annexures for ICs.
    • Assisting with the completion and submission of payroll documentation.
    • Ensuring all HR packs are complete and meet audit standards.

    2. Payroll Administration for Independent Contractors and Casual Workers

    Another major responsibility is ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration for ICs and casual workers. This includes monitoring timesheets, assisting with payroll queries, and handling terminations when necessary.

    Specific duties:

    • Ensuring IC agreements and annexures meet company standards.
    • Following up on outstanding documentation or queries.
    • Training ICs on the APS Timesheet Process.
    • Communicating payroll deadlines and processing claims.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • A degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in HR, Payroll, or related fields.

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of HR administration experience.
    • At least 1 year of recruitment experience.
