Main Objectives:
- Website and Social Media Management: Conceptualize, implement, and manage the School of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) websites and social media content to support teaching, learning, and professional engagement.
- Collaboration and Development: Work with academic staff to design, develop, and enhance JMS websites, manage marketing and social media materials, and oversee the implementation of new sites.
- Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for websites and web servers, ensuring proper security measures are in place.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: 3-year degree/Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, Programming, or IT.
- Experience: Approximately 4 years in relevant fields including website development, multimedia and graphic design, video editing, and MySQL server. Experience can include in-house training, internships, or project work.
- Skills and Proficiency:
- Website development and multimedia design.
- Graphic design and editing (Video and Animation).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PremierPro).
- Experience with ICT systems, web servers, and security.
- Desirable Experience:
- Development of web policies and standards.
- Managing small to medium-sized projects or parts of large projects.
- Experience in Media Technology or social media marketing.
