    Main Objectives:

    • Website and Social Media Management: Conceptualize, implement, and manage the School of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) websites and social media content to support teaching, learning, and professional engagement.
    • Collaboration and Development: Work with academic staff to design, develop, and enhance JMS websites, manage marketing and social media materials, and oversee the implementation of new sites.
    • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for websites and web servers, ensuring proper security measures are in place.

    Requirements:

    • Educational Background: 3-year degree/Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, Programming, or IT.
    • Experience: Approximately 4 years in relevant fields including website development, multimedia and graphic design, video editing, and MySQL server. Experience can include in-house training, internships, or project work.
    • Skills and Proficiency:
      • Website development and multimedia design.
      • Graphic design and editing (Video and Animation).
      • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PremierPro).
      • Experience with ICT systems, web servers, and security.
    • Desirable Experience:
      • Development of web policies and standards.
      • Managing small to medium-sized projects or parts of large projects.
      • Experience in Media Technology or social media marketing.
