Job Overview:
The position of Grade A Security Officer is a permanent full-time opportunity within the Fidelity Security Services division. As a Grade A Security Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the mine’s premises and assets, ensuring effective patrolling, and performing various security functions as required. The role requires a minimum of five years’ experience in the security industry, along with prior supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:
The Grade A Security Officer will be tasked with a range of duties critical to maintaining the security of the mining site. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Report Writing: Keeping detailed records of incidents, activities, and observations.
- Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and property within the mining site.
- Patrolling: Regularly patrolling the mining area to detect any potential security breaches or safety hazards.
- Entrance and Exit Control: Managing the flow of personnel and vehicles entering and exiting the premises, ensuring that all security protocols are followed.
- Completing Registers: Ensuring that all security-related logs and registers are accurately completed and maintained.
- Standard Security Duties: Carrying out all security-related tasks as per training and company protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Minimum Education: A Grade 10 qualification is required, although a Grade 12 is preferred.
- PSIRA Accreditation: A valid Grade A PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) accreditation and registration is a must.
- Security Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the security industry, including supervisory experience, with verifiable references.
- Criminal Record: The candidate must have no criminal record, with regular criminal background checks to be conducted.
- Mining Industry Experience: Previous experience in the mining sector is highly desirable, as it comes with unique security challenges that require a particular skill set.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
- Technical Skills: Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
