    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will:

    • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements within the organization.
    • Prepare and manage contractual negotiations and oversee contractual amendments.
    • Maintain and update standard contractual templates.
    • Collaborate with the tender department to evaluate and mitigate legal and operational risks associated with tenders.
    • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Provide compliance and general legal support as needed.
    • Monitor and advise on legislative developments impacting the organization.
    • Offer legal and administrative assistance to the Head Group Legal Counsel.
    • Liaise with external legal service providers and key stakeholders regarding legal matters.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience

    Applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

    • A Grade 12/Matric Certificate and a B. Com Degree (essential).
    • At least five years post-article experience in a law firm or legal department of a public entity.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of government legislation, policies, and procedures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • A valid, unendorsed motor vehicle driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
    • Strong corporate and executive support experience, which will be advantageous.
    • Clear criminal record with no pending cases.
