    Duties:

    • Learning Pathways: The internship provides diverse learning opportunities, including:
      • Taking ownership of technical aspects in agronomic trials to foster independent thinking and problem-solving. Initially supported by experienced technical officers and researchers to facilitate gradual learning and responsibility escalation.
      • Developing agriculture-specific technical skills and general soft skills essential for a well-rounded agronomist. This includes project management, time management, applied learning, social networking, self-control, self-motivation, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
      • Gaining experience across various regions of South Africa through exposure to multiple projects and crops, spanning the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, North-West, Limpopo, Free State, and Northern Cape provinces. This exposure equips interns with essential skills for nationwide agronomy practice.
      • Engaging with the industry through participation in farmers’ days, symposia, and workshops. Interns will also present preliminary research findings at such events.

    Job Requirements:

    • BSc, BSc (Agric), or BAgric degree in Agronomy or related fields.
    • Only South African citizens are eligible to apply.
    • Possession of a valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Willingness to travel during the production season.
