Ster-Kinekor Theatres Pty Ltd, a leading company in the entertainment industry, is seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Multi Skilled Employee on a fixed-term contract at our Bayside location in Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to gain diverse experience within the cinema operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Multi Skilled Employee will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the cinema. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Box Office Sales/Catering Sales or Collections: Serve as a cashier, assisting guests with ticket and food purchases.
- Cinema Assistant: Provide general assistance within the cinema, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Waiter: Serve guests in the cinema’s dining areas, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
- Poppers: Prepare popcorn and other snacks according to quality standards.
- Other Cinema Functions: Perform any additional duties as requested by supervisors.
Multi Skilled Employee Job Duties
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about Ster-Kinekor’s offerings and promotional activities to effectively upsell to guests.
- Presentation Standards: Maintain the cinema’s presentation standards, including age restrictions, updated synopsis files, neat and current posters, and properly displayed food and beverage products.
- Food Preparation: Prepare snacks such as popcorn and slush, ensuring they meet quality standards. Report any deviations.
- Shift Preparation: Assist in preparing the assigned area for each shift.
- Quality Management: Uphold the integrity of Ster-Kinekor products to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Professional Conduct: Always present yourself professionally, reflecting the company’s reputation.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Storeroom Standards: Ensure storerooms meet company standards and fumigation occurs as needed.
- Product Packaging: Properly seal, package, and store prepared products.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Submit all Health and Safety reports as scheduled.
- Uniform Standards: Adhere to uniform and preparation standards for personal and co-worker safety.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Requirement: Matric
- Experience: 0-1 years in a similar role
- Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience with VISTA (advantageous)
