    1. Position: Boilermaker Team Leader

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Boilermaker Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the boiler-making department. Your main tasks will include:

    • Maintenance and Repairs: Managing the execution of boiler making maintenance and breakdown repairs to meet Operational Equipment Efficiency targets.
    • Policy Adherence: Ensuring all duties are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Leadership: Managing and leading a team to ensure alignment with organisational values, objectives, and targets.
    • Cost-Saving Initiatives: Leading and contributing to cost-saving initiatives and equipment efficiency improvement programmes.
    • Continuous Improvement: Participating in plant initiatives to set and meet continuous improvement targets.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.
    • Administrative Duties: Performing maintenance planning and administrative tasks using SAP (an enterprise software system).

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education: Minimum requirement is a Grade 12 certificate.
    • Technical Qualifications:
      • Preferred qualification is an N5 with a recognized Boilermaker or Welder trade certification plus 3 years of experience in a heavy industry (experience in a cement plant is a plus).
      • OR N4 with a trade certification and 5 years of cement production experience.
      • OR N3 with a trade certification and 8 years of cement production experience (including the learnership period).
      • OR a recognized trade certification with 10 years of cement production experience (inclusive of learnership).
    • Additional Experience:
      • Extensive experience in maintenance system implementation and strategy.
      • Experience in people management.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
      • Must be declared medically fit after a medical examination.
      • Computer literacy, with SAP PM experience being advantageous.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Advanced fault-finding techniques and root cause analysis.
    • In-depth knowledge of cement or clinker manufacturing equipment and processes.
    • Ability to perform thorough plant inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
    • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental risks and statutory requirements.

    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with legal regulations, company policies, and procedures.
    • Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative duties through the SAP system.
    • Safety Standards: Uphold the highest safety, health, and environmental standards in the workplace.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education: Grade 12 certificate.
    • Technical Qualifications: Recognized Fitter or Fitter and Turner Trade Qualification.
    • Industry Experience:
      • Minimum 4 years of experience in the heavy industry.
      • Experience in a cement plant will be an advantage.
    • Additional Requirements:
      • Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
      • Must be declared medically fit after a medical examination.
      • Computer literacy (SAP experience is a plus).

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of heavy industry equipment for effective plant inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
    • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental risks and statutory requirements.
