    Purpose of the Network Engineer Job

    The primary purpose of this role is to monitor network status, manage network incidents, and attend to service requests to ensure timely service restoration. The role also involves conducting root cause analyses to prevent future issues, thereby ensuring a robust and reliable network infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Network Engineer at SITA, you will be responsible for the following:

    1. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    2. Maintenance of Network Devices: Regularly maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and other critical components.
    3. User Support: Provide support to users by attending to logged incidents promptly.

    • Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required.
    • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Wide Area Network (WAN), troubleshooting technology, network topology, network design, application layer protocols, and routing protocols.

    You should have a strong understanding and knowledge of:

    • Incident Restoration: Techniques and methods to restore network services promptly.
    • Computer and Network Principles: A solid grasp of basic and advanced networking principles.
    • MPLS, VPN, WAN, LAN: Expertise in Multi-Protocol Label Switching, Virtual Private Networks, Wide Area Networks, and Local Area Networks.
    • QoS, Routing, Switching: In-depth knowledge of Quality of Service, routing, and switching protocols.
    • Carrier Services and SLA Reporting: Ability to manage carrier services and report on service level agreements effectively.
